Ultra Touch Denim Insulation
UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation sets the standard for high performance insulating products coupled with a focus on environmental sustainability. Commonly referred to as the “bluejean insulation,” UltraTouch is comprised of post-consumer recycled cotton fibers, sourced from denim clothing and other similar products, rather than sending them to landfills. Denim Insulation is manufactured by using scraps of denim fabric which are processed into loose-fiber form and then chemically treated to resist fire, mold, mildew and common pests. The material is then blended with bonding fibers and heated, where it is then cut into batts for easy installation. The natural cotton fibers are one hundred percent recyclable at the end of its insular lifespan, giving it a high sustainability rating. These fibers allow for improved thermal as well as acoustical performance over other, more traditional methods of structural insulation. Installation of Denim Installation is also considered to be relatively safer, as contact with denim insulation does not cause significant irritation to the skin or respiratory system. Service Partners makes its use of the UltraTouch line of batt insulations, which offer R Values from R8 to R30.
