Insulation System Specification Sheet Blow-In-Blanket® system (BIBS®) is a proven, state-of-the-art insulation system utilizing specially manufactured fiberglass blowing wools installed in walls, floors, attics, or ceilings behind a proprietary fabric. The system forms a seamless blanket of insulation that completely fills around pipes, wires and other objects inside the cavity to maximize thermal efficiency and provides you with the highest R-values attainable on the market today. B E N E F I T S Reduced Air Infiltration National laboratory tests show BIBS reduces air infiltration up to 68% over conventional batt-type insulation, providing more comfort. Excellent Sound Control BIBS completely fills around objects inside the wall cavity, resulting in excellent sound control. Contact us for specific STC Ratings. Higher Efficiency R-Values BIBS high density insulation delivers the highest R-values on the market today, saving you energy and money. www.BIBS.com | 800.525.8992 | 14100 E. 35th Place, #104, Aurora, CO 80011 Non-Settling BIBS will not settle when installed correctly. The unique process of injecting the fiber behind a dust-free mesh virtually eliminates settling. Safety BIBS is naturally non-flammable, does not support the growth of mold, and contains no added formaldehyde. Recycled Content In addition to its energy-saving and custom-fitting qualities, BIBS incorporates fiberglass made with 25% or greater recycled content. The Potential Uses are Unlimited BIBS can be used in: – Retro-fit and new construction…both wood and steel frame – Residential-Industrial-Commercial – Metal Buildings – Interior Sound Walls Non-Flammable & Non-Combustible BIBS uses fiberglass insulation and meets ASTM C 764 Testing Criteria for smoldering combustion and ASTM E 136 for noncombustion. Flame Spread: 5 Smoke Development: 5 Acceptances BIBS meets the following standards: – International Building Code – International Residential Code – International Energy Conservation Code BIBS has been evaluated and accepted by the following government agencies: CCMC #13198R & 11790R Availability Only qualified contractors certified by BIBS may install the system. Approved fibers are: Certainteed InsulSafe®SP & Optima® Johns Manville Climate Pro® & Spyder™ Knauf Perimeter Plus™ Thermal Resistance ASTM C-518 tests for BIBS show the following R-values: 3 1/2” . . . . . R-15 (R-4.23 per inch) 5 1/2” . . . . . R-23 The chart shows the R-value of the insulation identified. R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-Value, the greater the insulating power. Ask your seller for the fact sheets on R-Values. Compare insulation R-values before you buy. There are other factors to consider. The amount of insulation you need depends mainly on the climate you live in. Also, your fuel savings from insulation will depend upon the climate, the type and size of your house, the amount of insulation already in your house, and your fuel use patterns and family size. If you buy too much insulation, it will cost you more than what you'll save on fuel. To get the marked R-value, it is essential that this insulation be installed properly. ©2014 BIBS® and Blow-In-Blanket® are registered trademarks of Service Partners LLC. All Rights Reserved.
